This contest will start Saturday 11 April 20.00, and will run until the first person has found both screenshots. Feedback is appreciated! Screenshots on the bottom of this post!

To participate in this contest, you must send 1G to Himeros, so we get some money for the winner (which the guild bank will quaduplify (4x) ~> 15 contestants = 15G, winner gets 15x4=60G).

So what exactly is this contest?

Caeser and Himeros have taken one screenshot from Kalimdor and one screenshot from the Eastern Kingdoms. These two screenshots you'll see at the bottom of this post.

How to win?

Take a screenshot on the EXACT same position as those screenshots were taken, with yourself on it.

How to take that screenshot?

First of all, you type the following lines (case-sensitive, "/script setcvar("... won't work, "/script SetCVar(" will.:
/script SetCVar("cameraDistanceMax", 25)
/script SetCVar("cameraDistanceMaxFactor", 2)
This will make your camera zoom out 2x further than is normally able. These settings will stay forever (always handy in a boss fight, especially in The Oculus / Naxxramas).
You zoom out as far as you can, you turn the camera so that your character is facing the camera. You press 'Alt-Z' to hide your interface. You press 'Print Screen' or 'PrtScn' on your keyboard. You exit WoW. You go to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Screenshots and select the screenshot on the bottom of the list. You send this screenshot to: fonjask@live.nl , including your name in the mail. You repeat these steps for the other screenshot.

Blizzard has started to make patch 3.1.0, giving some really great improvements to the game. This includes the addition of a new instance, Ulduar.

I am currently downloading the patch, and I'm sure all of you are. A lot is being changed, for some good, and for some less. For me as a Holy Pally, we're not nerfed. Instead, our class' skills were changed. So now then, here's a list of what YOU can expect from the upcoming patch.

Now to the point of things.

I was thinking about some addons I want to share with you all, because all my addons do half the work for me, and provide me with TONS of information. YES, some are absolutely useless, but about 200 have a really good function.

Now I know that not all of you have the best computer around and good CPU (and that EVERYONE has lag in Dalaran), so I decided to filter out the most important and useful ones, and especially the ones that take up the least CPU.

I came up with these. Please be so kind to check all of them, and if you'd download them all it would even be better. If you do not have DeadlyBossMods installed, you will not be invited to any heroic.

WHAT IS AN ADDON

An AddOn is just some files you can put in your game folder that can improve your interaction with the World of Warcraft game (for example make it easier to play, or give you more information about what's going on in the game).

DKP

Here's a table to show current DKP values. If you read on you'll understand what this is for.

In my post where I said that I was going to turn The Divine Dragons into a raiding guild, I really meant it. That's why I'm going to introduce some major changes:

Make an invite stop.
Kick everyone under level 60 that are more than 4 weeks offline.
Introduce DKP, later on more about this.
Encouraging players to get up to level 80 so we can do some raiding
Encouraging persuading of level 80s to come in our guild, for a DKP reward.
Raiding, raiding, raiding, and... raiding?

First of all, the invite stop. I want to stop inviting people that are level 55 or less. All those in the guild at the moment can stay in (that is, if they'll be active at least once per month). Alts of level 55+ are allowed to join the guild though, friends are not. Everyone that gets invited and is level 55- will get kicked from now on. Have to do this, if we want to become a raiding guild. Now, read on to the way nicer side of this post!

Now then... DKP

DKP (Dragon Kill Points) is a kind of currency which is earned by participating in raids and spent by acquiring loot from raid bosses. The term DKP is also frequently used to designate raid-level loot system in general. The most popular systems for endgame loot distribution are point-based, and thus DKP systems. (The very first endgame loot distribution system was developed by the guild Afterlife in 1999 and named for the original two EverQuest end bosses, both of whom were dragons.)

Hope you understood it, if not; here's a short summary: You gain DKP for the amount of hours you are in a raid, for the amount of bosses you participated killing in. You can lose DKP for leaving while the raid isn't finished yet, without making sure that a substitute can take your place.

Now then, what's DKP for: In raids (10 or 25 man), loot drops. Nothing new. But instead of rolling for it (which depends mostly on luck), you can now bid your DKP!

Why DKP? Many people will want things like this, this, this, this and this. Now, without DKP, it'll depend mostly on luck if you get one of those items, and it even happened that 2 players can get 5 items due to lucky rolls, and the other 8 people nothing. With DKP though, the loot is set to Master Looter, and you can bid your DKP on the items that you want. If you don't want an item, don't bid. If you do want an item, you simply say 'I bid 50 DKP', and wait to see if someone else bids higher. If they do, and you don't have more DKP left (you can get a maximum of 1000, and a minimum of -50), you will not lose your DKP points, but the winner (the one that offered the most DKP) will lose his DKP points and get the item.

How to get DKP, exact values:

You get 100 DKP when you hit level 71
You get 50 DKP when you hit level 79
You get 20 DKP for inviting a level 71+ that'll stay active and raiding in the guild for more than 4 weeks
You get 15 DKP if you have been present during the whole instance
You get 10 DKP per boss killed in a raid
You get 5 DKP per hour in a raid
Extra bonuses apply for valuable tactics for bosses, shortcuts, free elixir sharing etc.

How to lose DKP, exact values:

You lose 25 DKP if you make the entire raid wipe, and you'll have to pay the repair bill
You lose 15 DKP if you leave during a raid without making sure a substitute is standing outside the entrance
Extra losses apply for wrong tactics for bosses, not giving away buffs, getting the threat off a tank with a special ability or even bubbling the tank.

With the Winter Veil event, there are of course Winter Veil Achievements!
Our crazy guild achiever (Aronagi) has made a nice guide for it, unfortunately in Dutch but it will be translated by me soon and he'll repost :).

Patch 3.0.8

Patch 3.0.8 will be coming out soon, and OMG have I never seen so many GOOD 'improvements' to the game ever (joined WoW on 2.4.3 patch day).

Ex-Members and Future Plans

We already had to say goodbye to Odyseas, a week and a half ago goodbye to Sarosh, and yesterday goodbye to Antigwni. Odyseas left to join a raid guild, and Sarosh joined him. Antigwni might go there as well, but she left saying she wanted to try and make her own guild. For those that didn't know, Nazarnir is the official Guild Leader of the guild, but he's on LoA (Leave of Absence). As of yesterday, I am now the new Guild Leader.
Plans:

I'm planning to make this guild a strong and friendly level 80 guild to raid Northrend and other nice dungeons.
Furthermore I'll start removing all those inactive more than 3 weeks at 1 January (some people might get WotLK for Xmas). If you're on holiday or plan to return within a reasonable amount of time, please contact me.
Aronagi is making a guide to get all World Event Achievements, and I'm 'investigating' ways of getting easy money on the AH.
I'm level 72 now, and still haven't got 60% flying mount skill. I'll be needing loads of money for the Cold Weather Flying that is needed to fly at 310% in Northrend... She isn't a member of any faction, and the prices remain the same for all the riding skills:
Apprentice Riding - 35g (Requires lvl30)
Journeyman Riding - 600g (Requires lvl60, Riding 75)
Expert Riding - 800g (Requires lvl70, Riding 150)
Artisan Riding - 5000g (Requires lvl70, Riding 225)
Cold Weather Flying - 1000g (Requires lvl77, Riding 150)
Unfortunately this doesn't mean you can buy Cold Weather Flying and fly around in Northrend without spending 5500G on Normal and Epic Flying mount skill, because you still need to buy the normal Flying skill (and level 77 of course).

I've decided to set up a little screenshot contest, because everybody can win in these contests (in theory).

It's really simple to compete, follow these easy steps:

1) Find yourself a great spot for one or more screenshots

2) Ensure there are no players or NPC's on the screenshots, unless your screenshots are about that particular player or NPC.

3) Press Alt-Z to temporarily hide your User Interface.

4) Press PrintScreen to make a Screenshot. Press Alt-Z again to show your UI again.

5) Go to (default): C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Screenshots and find your screenshot

If you want to have a greater chance of winning, expand step 1 to the following:

* If you think of taking a picture that includes the sun, try coming back there when the sun sets, this results in a far better screenshot.

* A good screenshot is like a miniature piece of art. Turn your resolution and color sampling as high as your computer can handle. Turn on all the image effects and details, but turn down the weather effects to the lowest setting (except when you're planning to make a picture of Karazhan when it's raining for example). In general you want all your glow and spell effects maxed to really show the environment to its fullest potential (they actually help with the lighting too!). You may find a shot that you need to play with these settings to enhance, sometimes turning down environmental detail is helpful to remove extra grasses. Most of the time taking the pictures from 1st person view works best, so zoom all the way in so that you're looking through your character's eyes. Sometimes the object might be too big to use this view, if this is the case then you can press X to sit, or type /sleep to go even further down. Pay attention to the light - a well lit picture is 10 times better than a dark one.

You can send as many screenshots as you like.

We've downed Onyxia within 5 minutes, which is a good achievement. We also all got the achievement itself. No major deaths, only 1 noobish ninja, with who Odyseas and I had much fun with afterwards (= 'Noob!' 'Stop it!' 'NOOB!' 'Please stop!' 'NinjaNOOB!' 'I'm sorry! Stop it!' etc.).

I had nothing to do, so I decided to make some wallpapers for TDD.
